Peabody Scientific was founded in 1977 to provide ion beam components and systems to the world-wide research community. The company is located in Peabody, Massachusetts 20 miles north of Boston.
From the beginning, Peabody Scientific has used its expertise in ion beam technology to meet the specific and, sometimes, unique needs of its individual customers.
An ongoing ion source development program has resulted in a number of positive and negative ion sources that provide a variety of ion species covering the Periodic Table. In addition, we have a standard product suite of beam line components including lenses, steerers, extraction and acceleration gaps, Faraday cups, beam pulsing systems, ExB Mass Analyzers.
These ion sources and components are the heart of each of the systems that we offer. Our systems range in energy from a few hundred eV to 200 keV.
Applications of these systems include:
Ion Implantation SIMS (Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry) Heavy Ion Nuclear Physics Atomic Physics Solar Wind Simulators Materials Modification Time of Flight Surface Analysis Ion Beam Sputtering, Etching, Milling High Purity Thin Film Fabrication Thin Film Modification
We invite your inquiries for special designs to meet your particular needs.
